Back to School Giveaway

School has started and I'm feeling productive. Today when the kids marched off to school I mowed my lawn (and the neighbor's too for good measure), made revisions to our play (a man enters), finished reading Will Grayson, Will Grayson and cleaned out my closet, which resulted in six bulging garbage bags full of clothes in the back of my van.

You'd think I'd be exhausted, but there's one last thing to do today. It's time for another giveaway. So in celebration of back to school, which was always my favorite time of year as a kid (second only to the first day of summer), I decided that it's time to give you lovely readers a chance to win something to enrich your minds: a $15 Amazon gift certificate. Because what good is it to have the kids back in school if you don't have anything good to read, right?

To enter all you have to do is leave a comment telling me what your favorite subject was in school. Of course I love new followers, so if you're new don't forget to mention it in your comment and I'll throw in an extra entry for you.

The giveaway ends August 31st and I'll announce the winner on September 1st.

  1. Hmmmmmm, favorite subject? That's a tough one, I was such a nerd. I would have to say science, particularly biology. But English lit, was a close second if that makes you feel any better :)

  2. We want to know your favorite subject too. Way to go with the cleaning and yard work - you were super woman yesterday!

I always loved math - I had some great teachers in high school that made it come alive for me, and I appreciated that there was logic that led to one right answer that everyone could (usually) find.

  4. I always loved English but in school I thought my favorite subject was Math.

Now as an adult,my day job has to do with math and my dream job has to do with English (writing for a living).

    Great giveaway!

    I am new!

  5. In school I always liked math best - solving that elusive puzzle. But in my free time, reading is what I loved best - just not as a subject in school. Strangely, I ended up an English teacher and married a math teacher!

Like you, I love back to school but there's nothing like summer vacation either. :-)

  6. My favorite was my English Comp and Shakespeare Study my senior year. Both were taught by my favorite teacher Mrs. Stover who was tough as nails! When you got a positive comment, you knew it was well earned!

  7. My favorite subject was English only the parts where we didn't have to diagram sentences though. Congrats on the progress. You did more in one day than I did all summer.

  8. Mine was English as well, especially grammar. When I taught college, my favorite class to teach was Developmental English because the course was so heavy in its grammar component.
